The role

As a Global Category Manager, you will have full responsibility for acquiring indirect materials and services. Currently, the Global Procurement team consist of five powershifters, reporting to the Head of Procurement within the bigger Global Supply Chain team. There are local teams in the other markets responsible for market-related procurement.

At Svea Solar, we have many processes in place, but there is still plenty of room for streamlining and impacting how the department looks and what strategies and processes we implement.

Here is the compulsory guiding bullet point list of your responsibilities: 

• Execute purchasing procedures both globally (global contracts or process alignment) and locally (dotted line support) within the indirect material category
• Systematization of the category and cost structure analysis
• Develop indirect material acquisition processes and strategies
• Initiate, negotiate and manage supplier agreements
• Improve ways of working within the procurement team and internal stakeholders globally and locally
• Set up priorities for stakeholder demands based on data and expected impact
• Create KPIs and dashboards for concrete follow-up actions
• Analyze and create projects based on the CapEx budget
• Run a complete spend analysis and make necessary adjustments to the account plan together with Finance.

Are we a match?

We grew quite big across five markets within the past few years, but the pace is still accelerating. Thus, we hope you like working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership and navigating stakeholder relationships smoothly. 

With this said, we have a few things that we find essential to succeed in this role:

• An academic degree within a relevant field
• A couple of years of successful experience in indirect materials and/or services purchasing (category/strategic/project)
• Experience in working with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics BC
• A true master at managing suppliers and negotiating prices and agreements
• Experience in working with international suppliers
• Fluency in English is a must; Swedish and other languages of our markets are a strong plus.  

If you have experience working within the solar industry, that would be awesome, but nothing we expect. A genuine interest in renewable energy and a true desire to fix our planet takes you a long way. 🙂 We'll help you get up to speed with everything related to our industry and the indirect materials our support functions use.
