Mollie, Onsite Consultant
Hey Mollie! Tell us what you're up to at Svea Solar.
Hey! I'm the only girl in an amazing group of guys working on site visits in Sweden. As the first point of contact for customers, my role involves checking the quality of roofs, taking measurements, and determining the placement of components for planned solar systems.
During the installation phase, I provide the team leader with pictures to help with project preparation and planning. These photos show how everything looks, provide guidance on considerations, and suggest safety measures for the project.
What did you do before joining the team as a Power Shifter?
I previously worked abroad for a travel company, providing entertainment for families on vacation. However, due to the pandemic, I transitioned to working at Volvo Cars for nearly a year. Although I enjoyed the physical work, the factory environment didn't suit me. That's when I discovered Svea Solar and embarked on my journey as a power shifter.
Can you share a particularly successful project you've worked on?
During my time as a team leader, we encountered a challenging project with a large tin roof. As we were still doing some digging work at the time, we faced difficulty due to the ground being filled with large rocks. However, my amazing colleague and I managed to make it work and had fun in the process. Perhaps the arrival of spring uplifted our spirits after a long winter. Despite the task of dragging long cables through the ground and up the house, everything turned out neat and tidy. The customer expressed great satisfaction and even recommended us to their neighbor across the street, impressed by our speed and quality of work.
What sets Svea Solar apart from other companies in your opinion?
When I joined Svea Solar, I was used to negative calls from bosses. But here, we have leaders, not bosses. I remember a call from my boss during my second month On-Site. I expected criticism, but he praised my work and work ethic.
To sum up, the biggest difference at Svea Solar is being recognized and appreciated. Feedback is given for both areas of improvement and things done well.
Can you share a strong and enjoyable memory from your time as a Power Shifter?
Without a doubt, my most memorable experience was meeting all the guys from On-Site. Since we work across various locations in Sweden, we don't often have the chance to meet in person. I had concerns as the only girl in the team, fearing that I might feel out of place. However, it was like meeting family. This is what makes me proud to be a Power Shifter. Svea Solar is not just another company where employees are mere numbers. Everyone is seen, heard, and welcomed everywhere. Moreover, we are contributing to the most crucial change we can make - transforming the electricity industry.
