Senior Legal Counsel - Solar parks
The Utility business unit at Svea Solar is responsible for utility-scale (i.e., very large!) projects. Our own solar park portfolio includes Fjällskär (20.7 MW), Hörby (18.2 MW) and others, accounting for 49 MW of operational assets and another 54 MW of assets under construction, including an agrivoltaic park construction in Hova.
With such a volume of operations and the exciting complexity of the business, we are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to drive and shape the legal landscape of our solar park projects.
The role
You will be responsible for managing and supporting Svea Solar's Utility business unit in all legal matters arising from contracts with business partners, construction, M&A, financing, land lease, energy contracts, disputes, and the corporate and regulatory framework.
You will be independently responsible for managing and supporting Svea Solar's Utility business unit in all legal matters arising from contracts with business partners, construction, M&A, financing, land lease, energy contracts, disputes, and the corporate and regulatory framework in close collaboration with the Utility management team, the group legal department and external legal advisors.
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you'll have a tangible impact on the success of the business and contribute to shaping the future of renewable energy through legal expertise and guidance. You will act as a legal business partner and work proactively to scale legal proficiency within Utility, such as educating stakeholders and improving processes and tools. You will have a wide scope of responsibilities, for example:
- Supporting with legal aspects of M&A transactions, financing and internal projects.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial agreements and agreements related to real property.
- Supporting construction activities with legal matters.
- Supporting dispute and claims discussions.
- Managing external legal advisors.
- Ensuring legal compliance and effective corporate governance together with the General Counsel/legal team.
The role reports directly to the General Counsel, with a dotted-line report to the Managing Director Utility.

- Strong legal experience in transaction-heavy environments, such as in a law firm working with various industries and customers.
- Expertise in business law with experience preferably in areas of construction, real estate or M&A.
- Experience from a fast-growing company is desirable.
- Completed a Nordic university degree in law.
- Fluency in English and Swedish.
- Business-centric approach to legal matters.
