Hey Aron! We are thrilled to have you here on #behindthegrid. So tell us, who are you what do you do at Svea Solar?
I'm the Office Manager at our HQ in Stockholm. My mission is to assist all Power Shifters at our HQ with all things office-related, from answering questions, keeping our HQ spick and span, organizing epic After Works, arranging delicious catering, and making sure everyone have everything they need to shine as a Svea Solar star and together create the best HQ experience ever.
At Svea Solar, many people #growaswegrow and take on new challenges and growth opportunities. In what ways have you grown at Svea Solar?
I joined the Svea Solar team back in March 2022. When I started I was a part of the recruitment team and during 2022 we hired around 450 new colleagues! That for sure was a journey and a great growing experience! A few months ago I was offered this new position as Office Manager and I couldn’t really say no.
How come you joined Svea Solar? And what did you do before you started here?
My previous experience was from the traveling industry. I’ve been working both on trains and airplanes and most recently with HR and recruitment at MTR (subway, commuter trains and long distance trains). My former colleague joined Svea Solar and with perfect timing in connection with my University graduation, she told me they was looking for another team member within HR. I really wanted to work for a company that makes a difference for the environment and are driven by a greater cause than just making a good business. Knowing each day that I work towards ridding the planet of fossil fuels gives me extra energy continuing to create the best workplace experience for all my colleagues!
The Office Manager role is completely new - why is the role initiated and what's it like to build something entirely from scratch?
It’s hard to cover it all, but here’s a summarized answer. There was a need of gathering all responsibility connected to the Office in one role. For example, we have contact with external companies and individuals. Everything from Cleaning company contracts and Coffee machine maintenance to planning and organize the way different departments are seated in a way that makes the collaboration and interactions between colleagues thrive in the best way possible. And, of course, make sure new employees and guests feel welcomed to us! So - there’s a lot of different tasks on my plate - and that’s just how I like it!
When creating a role from scratch there is a lot that needs to be evaluated continuously, especially when working in this kind of fast changing company! Two of our six values are ”Own it” and ”Move Forward” and they are very helpful when it comes to creating something new. Allow failure, get unstuck and get wisdom from trying instead of not trying helps me to find better ways of doing things!

Being able to keep up with our fast turns is a must. If your aim is to develop at work and have fun along the way, then this is the company for you.
What's your most memorable moment from your Svea Solar career?
Hmm… it must be one of our after work celebrations where everyone were having a good time and celebrated for several hours 🥂☀️
