Julia Torstensson, Operation Team Lead
Hey Julia! Tell us a bit more about you and what your role is at Svea Solar?
the fall of 2021, and I have been working as a supervisor for a few months now. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.
How have you grown or developed professionally since starting at Svea Solar?
I started as an installer and worked in a team with another girl named Matilda. We worked together for a year and a half, and then she got a different role as an installation coordinator here at Svea Solar. That's when I was asked to become a supervisor, and I felt that it could be something for me. Now I have been in this role for a few months and I really enjoy it
What is your favorite thing about the company's mission and values?
I think Svea Solar is a very good employer and provides great opportunities for personal growth as well as growth within the company. They are also committed to increasing the number of female installers.
What tips would you like to give to other women who are interested in joining our team as a power shifter?
Just keep going, it may seem difficult and challenging at times, but it pays off with the fantastic colleagues and the usually nice weather.
What are the most rewarding aspects of being a leader and why?
The best thing about being a leader for me is that you have a lot of independent responsibility and it helps you grow as a person.
Can you tell us about a particularly fun memory from your time with us at Svea Solar? Maybe something fun that happened to you and your team when you were out at a project!
I have many fun memories from my time working at Svea, but I have to say the most enjoyable part is seeing everyone's expressions when they realize that it's female technicians who will be installing their system.
