Julia Torstensson - Operation Team Lead
Tell us about yourself and your role here at Svea Solar!
My name is Julia Torstensson, and I am 22 years old. I have been working at Svea Solar since the fall of 2021, and I am currently working as a certified team lead.
What are you up to when you’re not Ridding the planet of fossil fuels?
In my free time I enjoy working out, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
Tell us about your team’s responsibilities, and what makes your team special?
My team consists of me and my colleague. We have been a team since the beginning of September. Despite recently becoming a team, we are very good at motivating each other, helping one another and setting clear goals.
Recently you were the first female at Svea Solar to be a certified team lead, how does that feel?
I think it's fun! I hope of course that more women dare to take on a leadership role and complete the certification. I believe it is an important role because I want to maintain a high standard and carry out excellent installations.
What has been the most challenging and most fun so far?
I would say the most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with all the customers. They are usually very happy and curious when we arrive, as they have been waiting for a long time and are excited to get the installation done. What I sometimes see as a challenge is the weather, especially when it rains, snows or is windy. In such conditions, it's important to keep our spirits and motivation high.
Lastly, do you have any advice for women who wants to work as an installer at Svea Solar?
Just do it, it may seem difficult and heavy at times, but it pays off with the fantastic colleagues and the usually nice weather.
