Marcus Cordts- Head of Energy Trading
Tell us about yourself and your role at Svea Solar.
I joined Svea Solar three years ago, responsible for building up the energy subscription service. The first year was all about IKEA, but now we are shifting our full focus on creating the best energy subscription contract for customers producing their own energy.
What's the best thing about your job?
Coming from a more traditional energy retailer, the best thing is the breadth and depth of our portfolio, namely hardware, software, and the complete customer experience from sales to installation. No other entity has the same position. When we crack the code and get all these working together, we will offer customers something unique.
Even better, the faster and better we succeed in doing so, the more impact we will have on the critical transition to fossil-free energy.
What are some of the challenges that you face/solve in your role as Head of Energy Trading?
Balancing the priorities between what we need as a company today versus building for the future.

Lorem ipsum donata
Curabitur blandit tempus porttitor. Cras mattis consectetur purus sit amet fermentum. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Donec id elit non mi porta gravida at eget metus.
You have been here for quite some time; what are the biggest changes today from when you started?
No doubt, it's the foundation of how we organize and approach our ambitions. We certainly have more people now, and with that, more specialized competences to build upon.
Why do you think someone should join our journey?
A fast-paced environment with the opportunity to use your skill set to make a real impact on the everyday lives of energy consumers (i.e. everybody) and society.
What do you do when you're not working?
I would love to say freediving and playing tennis; the reality is taking care of kids and the house :)
Any summer plans?
Eating shellfish with a glass of wine every day for the entire summer, together with my family on the west coast.
