Safety Week at Svea Solar
Hey Anna!
We have an exciting week ahead – Safety Week! As our Head of Safety, Anna has played a key role in preparing for this week.
To kick things off, can you tell us a bit more about what Safety Week actually is, and what the purpose behind it is? 🦺
Safety Week is a dedicated time when we place extra focus on improving and strengthening our safety routines and safety culture. The goal is to increase awareness of safety, educate our employees, and carry out activities that promote a safe and secure working environment.
Safety is a top priority at Svea Solar. How far have we come in our safety work? 💛
We have made significant progress in our safety work. We have improved and simplified procedures to prevent risks and strengthened our routines for follow-up and control of installations. Additionally, we have implemented a new system for reporting accidents and incidents. We also continue to focus on training managers and employees, as well as improving ergonomics to reduce the risk of strain injuries.
We are seeing a reduction in the number of incidents, and a high safety temperature within the company, which shows that our improved safety routines and the increasing safety awareness within the company are truly making a difference, which is great!

How does working with safety differ depending on whether you're a Power Shifter in the installation environment versus working in an office setting?
Safety work varies depending on the work environment. For Power Shifters in the installation environment, it involves creating a safe and secure work environment by proactively following established safety routines and using the right protective equipment to prevent risks. Additionally, promoting well-being, collaboration, and a positive work culture is equally important for our installers. In the office, we focus on these same principles, ensuring a safe and positive work environment through well-being, collaboration, and a good work culture.

And Anna – we'd love to hear more about you too! Tell us about yourself!
I have a degree in geography and environmental coordination, and for many years I worked at an infrastructure company with environmental, quality, and occupational health and safety issues, both at the project level and on a more overarching level. In recent years, I have also furthered my education to become a nutrition therapist and run my own business, as well as worked at a functional medicine clinic, where I have helped many with lifestyle changes, gut health, and stress and exhaustion issues.
When I am not working, I spend a lot of time with my family. My other half Janne and I have three children together, aged 17, 16, and 8, so we try to be there for them and their various needs, such as driving practice, having coffee, and shopping, as well as staying up late with the older ones and playing and picking up and dropping off the youngest at different activities. A wonderful combination! Besides spending time with my family, I love being out in nature and enjoy taking long walks in the forest where I find my peace. I also have a great passion for being in the kitchen. I love starting a variety of projects on a Sunday morning, such as baking my own gluten-free bread, making muesli, nut milk, nut butter of various kinds, and mixing a delicious smoothie.
Finally, what’s your number one safety tip that you think everyone should implement in their daily life? ✏️
My number one safety tip for daily life is to be attentive and present. Put away your phone and focus on what is happening around you. If you feel stressed, try taking a few deep breaths and take a break to regain calmness. Stress can lead to poor decisions and reduced attention, increasing the risk of accidents. By being aware of potential risks, staying present in the moment, and managing stress, you can prevent many accidents and injuries.
